... and getting to actually experience it!

Over the past few years, I've been invited to give talks to a number of classes, sharing about the challenges I've faced, and about my experiences as someone who uses a communication device.

These talks have been given to Education classes for teachers, all of whom may at one time or another need to deal with individuals with challenges. The response has always been enthusiastic.

To date, I've given talks at

Bank Street College

Hunter College

Teacher's College, Columbia University

Fordham University

St. Joseph's College

City University of NY Graduate Center

Kean University

Feel free to reach me through the Contact page, if you are interested in such a talk.

A "Working with People with Disabilities" Lecture at Bank Street College of Education

On Tuesday June 16th, 2015, I spoke to future special education teachers about how to work with people with disabilities in the classroom. I shared several of my experiences and talked about the importance of communicating effectively. Here is a photo and an audio clip from that evening. I have given this lecture before at several colleges and the reception is always great. My favorite part of conducting this lecture series is meeting future educators that are interested in teaching people with disabilities. In some cases I've been the first person with a disability that they have had a personal interaction with.

As always, if you are interested in having me present, please visit my Contact Page.
